He is adviser to the Prime-minister Dacian Ciolos, not the transport minister.

Yeah, to the PM on infrastructure matters. That's the correct title.

Romania. In effect, is building very few proper roads, less than anyone in the EU apart from Malta.

That will not change for the next 5 years. It will take until 2080 at least to finish the planned network.

Thanks to the government and CNADNR, both rotten from the inside despite the face changing...

At the current rate, yes. But we hope that to change. We used to build 100 km of motorways per year or more. But priorities changed with the outgoing government which cut spending for infrastructure to half of what they used to be. The new government is placing again infrastructure on top of priorities, so trend will hopefully change.

The current goverment will last less than a year. It takes longer than that to finally issue a contract after tender. They need 2 years to get a good tempo going.

A good government takes care that projects can not suddenly be halted by a new government, like Ponta cs. did with the bridge on DN7 Ceintura Nord of Arad and the railway bridge on line 902 Bucuresti - Giurgiu.

The current government is basically a center-right government, sanctioned by an ad-hoc center-right coalition that will most probably win the upcoming general elections next year. More or less, the same people who managed to build 100+ km of motorways per year during the crisis years will make up the government starting December 2016. So, whatever the current government is doing, is also sanctioned by the coming government.

STOP TALKING ABOUT THAT ****** POLITICS! I don't think it is too easy for them now. Not that I like the government(it sucks ordinary people's money), I hate people criticising the government if they themselves do nothing to change it. If you do contribute to it, and they do nothing, it is OK to criticise but if you do nothing, then the only phrase that can be said by those politicians is: "OK. Take our places and responsibility in the government and we gonna see what happens in 3 years". Believe me, nothing good happens hereafter. There were anarchists and unsuccessful uprisings due to the misrule of those. And anyway, there are thousands of newspages in which you can tell your opinion. Not here.

Your right about the off-topic... But about politicians, what can you do? And how can you think that you can change anything?

Yes, a democracy where peoples have power to change things and give their opinions is called a "participative democracy" and this is the only true democracy. If you think that you have the power to change anything, then you are totally wrong...
Of course in the world there is no example of such democracy because politicians needs to keep the power.

And don't think that "normal" people are too stupid or anything like that to have a real power on our laws, it can't be worse than the actual system where people who are making the laws are the one who take profit of it (they are both judge and judged), this is why they need to keep the power...

You should look at Youtube, you will maybe find some great videos about this topic (I know some in french, maybe there is also some in english or in your language...)

The contract for the completion works was signed today with Aktor&Euroconstruct.

It's reported that it's a D&B contract. 4 months design and 18 months build phase. That means, the A3 section should be opened in fall 2017.

Why the hell is there a design phase, I think construction works were started and suspended? Maybe I missunderstand the article and it's 4 months of construction works planning - not design planning - and 18 months of constructions works execution?

It's reported that variant 3 was chosen.

- Poduri <100m: 90
- Poduri >100m: 58

According to the map, the light blue variant has a length of 130370m. I guess it's variant no. 3, isn't it?

It's the longest variant and contains the highest number of tunnels (16), the longest tunnel has a length of 2800m.

It is early to chose any variant, as the FS is supposed to be ready 6 months from now. There's a high change that the article is just bogus jurnalism, missinterpretation of statements or a ill-thought declaration from a minister...

Anyway, variant 3 is pretty much the worst one, due to the huge lenght of tunnels and bridges required, crossing a natural parc, passing by a popular natural spa area. It is also longer than the direct route (variants 1&2) and missed the only city that would make the detour worth-while. Ramnicu Valcea. If Calimanesti would have an interchange, it would still be farther away from the city than the one at Tigveni where a fast road towards the city would also be constructed.

Prerry much everyone on the forums wishes for a combination of 1 and 2 and we hope that this is a press mistake.
