About highways, another bad story about A1, more specificly Nadlac-Arad-Timisoara, some people from romanian national road company (CNADNR), said that the highway has been build too close of groundwater aquifers (underground water) and it could cause this segment to fall appart in some sections (it has been to be repaired on some part of Arad-Timisoara...), the situation could be terrible in a few years...

Those articles are based on the sayings of some people who were moved to a lower level in their offices and now are just wanting some attention.

When the motorway will fall apart, then we can discuss this topic. Until then, I call this bs.

That stuff is likely to be BS.

What's certain is that all the people working for the CNADNR, both the ones in lower lever and upper level offices, need to be moved into the basement.

No, most of the people working for CNADNR and the Transport Ministry, no matter on what level, need to be moved out of the freaking building!! With new ones to take their place.

Quote:

Asociatia Pro Infrastructura (API)

This one is of the Sebes - Deva highway, opened a few years ago, but videos of the highway sections U/C will follow shortly:

It's not the "Last 18-Km Sector Of Transylvania Highway".

It's the only section of the Campia Turzii - Targu Mures highway (56.5km) for which the contract was yet to be signed. Now the contracts have been signed for all of the 5 sections and works should start soon. "Transylvania highway" includes Campia Turzii - Targu Mures highway, but it's much more than that.

Actually one contract is in jeopardy, the constructors wants to pull out as he is entitle be the fact that starting order have not been given by CNADNR even after a year (problems with financing and with building permits.

Yea, I think I've read about that. But it seems that they had actually offered a very low price "in the hope" that they would later be granted some additional €. But since the government changed, it's not going to happen. Sucks for them.
Anyway, AFAIK this is the shortest highway stretch of the 5, and it's also the last one, right before Targu Mures. So it doesn't really change much.

What about the other 4 sections, do you know when they're supposed to start digging and filling?

By the way, there is also the highway stretch Suplacu de Barcau - Bors (64.5km), for which the works were supposed to resume a while ago. But it looks like we have a similar situation over here - the respective company had offered a low price and is now asking for more money. I really home that CNADNR terminates this contract right away and sends Corsan Corviam to hell. This way they would send a clear message that BS like this is not tolerated anymore, and that companies need to be responsible when making those offers.

The Suplacu de Barcău - Borș segment (64.5 km) was previously U/C, but the respective contract w. Bechtel was terminated in May 2013, with the construction progress around 50%. Here's an older video, from 2012. There hasn't been any progress since then, though:

Original inauguration of the Păulești suspended roundabout, part of the Ploiești ringroad. 500 mayors from the Republic of Moldova were invited to dance the "Hora Unirii" (Union Dance) on the new piece of infrastructure.

If I got the CNADNR right, a design&build contract was signed for lot 2A. 4 months design phase, 12 months execution (construction) phase and 48 months warranty.
I think that means, they will start construction of this section in August 2016 at the earliest...

If I'm right, there's currently no section u/c b/n Campia Turzii and Targu Mures.

The contract is for SECTION 2A (Ogra-Campia Turzii), LOT 2 (Iernut-Chetani), a 18 km long strip of motorway.

4 months design, 12 months construction and 48 months warranty

This is the last of 5 lots of the Campia Turzii - Tg Mures section (56 km) of Transilvania Motorway. All sections have received start of works orders so works will start in the coming period.

They obviosly came for money because the country is almost banckrupt and there is no choice for them. I understand there were even communist mayors who came at signing, which tells miles about how bad things are. But IMO a motorway to Chisinau serves better for such opening than the Ploiesti roundabout.
