le clerk try to stay chill and objective. irrespective of the MP novi sad and tm will be capitals of culture 2021 and a clear MO had been agreed on regarding this road when ciolos and his counterpart met in TM last year.

internationals, please give up any hope regarding RO infra development, current admin is extremely weak and retrograde, even destroying previous progress made via political appointments, rushing through new tenders, reversing reforms and harming any continuity etc. DISASTER ( in many domains)

keep expectiations very very low and tune back later. too bad it's a life and death thing.

What do you mean chill and objective ? Reality denying that the project is dropped by both sides, as per official statements ?

well you were characteristically/"patriotically" sugarcoating and rationalizing, excusing in retrospect the unfortunate cancellation of previously bilaterally communicated and agreed plans and intentions.

I won't attempt to argue or reason with/convince you, no need to clog the thread.

Oh cut the patriotic bullshit! There was no agreement. Have you noticed this project anywhere in the masterplan approved by the same government who "agreed" on the project? Maybe a refresh is useful on this non-project:

Quote:
„Noi trebuie să discutăm şi de interconectarea cu Serbia, în domeniul infrastructurii. Astăzi am vorbit despre ce vom face în viitor. Noi avem deja un Master Plan, dar acesta nu prevede o autostradă între Timişoara şi Belgrad, ci un drum naţional. Aceasta în timp ce planurile pe partea sârbă prevăd o autostradă. O să analizăm şi noi problema, să vedem dacă se justifică o autostradă”, a declarat Dacian Cioloş, la Timişoara.
http://www.tion.ro/dacian-ciolos-la-...elgrad/1730293

Romania must first amend its Masterplan to include Timisoara-Moravita as a motorway route instead of an upgraded road as currently. If that happens, only then an agreement can be on a motorway. If we do not see this amendment with a PM from Timisoara, with strong control in the parliament, then I doubt we will see an amendment in the medium run. Probably the route will be delayed for the post 2020 financing budget.

CNAIR has awarded LOT 5 of Comarnic-Brasov motorway to Alpenside.

Comarnic by-pass road has also been awarded but no info of the builder yet. Busteni by-pass is next. These will be national roads to be built before the construction of the other lots on A3 motorway on the same route.

CNAIR awarded for the second time that lot 5 (first time in november last year). Probably the decision will be over-thrown in justice in next few months. No final decision about that lot is made, no real hope to see something sure this year.

As for Comarnic by-pass - that's a projects from which I have really low expectation. It willl not improve too much curent situation.

Impossible answer.

We only know for sure of a 9 km section of norther belt (between A1 and DN7) which will open later this year.

There is another 11 km section of northern belt which is in tender process, and should be completed in 2 years or less. The south belt is also in tender preparation but it will take longer to be built, and there is no time estimation there.

I got myself a roadmap of ANWB (Dutch ADAC), unfortunate there is misinformation about the A1 between Margina and Deva.

Those are free travel maps for members of ANWB. They are basic maps, intended to plan long routes. I have a very large collection going back to the 1980s (though I stopped collecting them about 10 years ago). They have a problem with accuracy, especially with the expressway vs motorway indication in Spain and Poland. Opening dates tend to be unreliable but that's not entirely ANWBs fault as projects get delayed all the time.

CNADNR has prepared the tenders for works for the Craiova-Pitesti expressway (121 km) and first section of Sibiu-Pitesti motorway (14 km). The other end section from Pitesti to Curtea de Arges (30 km) should also be tendered out soon.

So 2 motorway mountain sections are started in parallel (on A1 and A3), with hopefully a 3rd one too on A8 Tg Mures-Iasi this year (or at least some sections of it) .

Once again, what?

On A3, lot 5 between Rasnov and Comarnic is not a mountain section. It's flat as a plain, no more difficult than any other section on A2 or A1 already built.
Also, those two section on A1 (section 1 and 5) are also flat. There is no mountain to cross there, only on section 2 and 3 (section 4 and 6 are basicly through hills).

Also, no ground works will start on either of them this year. Actually probably neither next year, as there is no contract sign and we are not even in design phase. Thus means that there isn't an environmental agreement and with that we youn't have any building permit. I hope that those get issued in 2019 at least.

Both sections of A1 and A3 between Sibiu and Pitesti and Brasov and Comarnic have been refferred to as mountain sections of the 2 motorways so far, even though indeed not 100% accurate to call them mountain because they also contain hilly and plain sections, even though for most part they cut through mountains.

Section 5 on A3 may be almost flat but sections 1 and 5 on A1 are in NO way flat. They are at least as hilly as it gets.

BTW: lot 1 of A1 between Sibiu and Pitesti is also prepared to be tendered for works.

If I'm correct, the left section will only be ready by end of 2020 (tunnel), the middle section by 2018, and the section on the right side by 2019. Can anyone confirm?

And what is the state of construction works on the DN 76 from knot Deva to Brad and beyond?

It is easier to explain if we use this map. From west to east we have this situation:

- blue segment with 2017 wrote on it: open to traffic in february 2017
- red segment (6km) will probably be finish this year but won't be used as there is no road near the end (remote area)
- light blue segment with 2020 wrote on it is the segment where technical solution was change due to envirommental reason. But although this is an established fact since 2013, although techinical project was made by Salini (which is building previous 2 segment), there is no tender process for choosing the contractor for those tunnels. Since construction is estimated for at least 3 years, probably this segment won't be finish previous of 2022.
- blue segment with 2017 is under construction in various degrees. Main problem is Holdea I/C which wasn't in first draft (but it is necessary now due to lack of connection in west- see above) and which is still waiting for building permits. Hopefully it will be over in 2017.
- light blue segment with 2018 is under construction, but building permit was issued only at beginning of March (half of it was build in 2014-2015 but without building permit so works were stopped). It everything goes well it will be over late 2018.

As for DN76 from Deva to the north:
- up until Brad is still under construction. In march, when i last went that way, was quite ok (during daylight and without rain).
- from Brad until Ionesti (Arad county) works were finished, everything it looks great.
- from Ionesti towards Varfurile - very bad quality, all works were abandoned
- between Varfurile and Stei I don't know the situation.
- from Stei towards Beius still some works going on, road is restricted
- from Beius to Oradea works are finished, but final result is not that great.
