Since my Romanian is not very good, what do you mean? I've tried to translate, but it's difficult. Did you mean something like: "So they helped us into more creep?" (I think I'm totally wrong)

He said: "Is it like this in other countries too?"@yonutz: Please post your replies in English from now on. This is an international forum after all. That article is too long to read, it's some criticism of Bechtel for some delays or something like that. |

I'm sorry for my last post that was written in Romanian. Ref. to the article indeed a lot of criticism from that newspaper towards Bechtel. But I guess the truth is somewhere in between (Bechtel works slowly because the gov. doesn't pay them/the gov. doesn't pay them because they work slowly

I think they entered a "vicious circle" already
. But I read in the news today the Government paid some 200 million euros, so the work can continue.

From Bucharest to Craiova it is A1 motorway from Bucuresti to Pitesti and from Pitesti to Craiova an expressway. About the quality of the expressway I don't have informations, perhapse the other Romanians within the forum from that part of the country. |

Well, A1 runs to km120 and A2 runs to km160, both starting at around km10.
So 110+150 = 260km. |

To the Romanian guys. Do you have some photos of the Turnu Severin Drobeta - Orsova road ? The one that passes by the Iron gate ....
I've passed by there a long time ago , but the road scenery was stunning. The road was fine too - a lot of viaducts afir. |

How many km expressway/motorway did Romania build last year?
I read a data showing that Poland built 25 km. Last edited by Vagabond; April 20th, 2008 at 07:49 AM. |

The problem with Romania's motorway system is that it is centred around Bucharest. In spite of the UE's recommendations to bild Corridor IV, Romania only builds highways that provide better comfort to the capital...the A2 was built fast and easy because Bucharest needed a good road to go to the seaside..the A1 to clear some of the traffic and Bucharest-Brasov to provide access to the winter resorts of sinaia, predeal, busteni and poiana brasov. Any other motorway project runs slowly ( the transylsvania motorway, the sibiu by-pass and so on)

I'm talking about the fact that any motorway project outside of the bucharest area tends to work slower or not work at all.
