Love the quality and aesthetic value of these new projects in Berlin. They will surely be valued for generations to come.

Berlin needs some high-rises, on the 200-300m range. They should pick one of the lakes, like the Grunau, and make zone it as a high-rise area around it.

^ They wouldn't have to, there's enough empty space even within the inner city. Unfortunately people in Berlin are afraid of heights (looking up) so I guess they would have build them where nobody can see them

I think the former Tempelhof airport grounds would make an awesome high-rise cluster. Like one big boulevard full of high-rises surrounded by parkland and recreational areas

So far only one small edge of the airport site is planned to be developed and already the NIMBYs are doing all they can to bring the project down, because for some reason they desperately need a huge empty field in their vicinity. How I do not like these people...

These townhomes, which I actually find to be a superb example of modern-done-well, integrate nicely into the area and have a true/historic German modernist feel and appearance. They are opposite a pre WWII government complex and the entire site plan is most pleasing.
The townhomes are on the left of the pic below; the pre WWII on the right and the Schinkel museum in the distance.

With all the atrociously ugly 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s structures that need renovation or tear down, it's really disappointing that funds will be spent changing a perfectly good Mies van der Rohe style structure. Couldn't the developers have selected one or more of the buildings along Leipziger Str to transform into something worth looking at???

Yet another piece of the International Style skyscraper heritage to be lost forever for another fadchitecture redesign that will become outated in the next decade.

You know, instead of a proper renovation that upgrades its materials while still keeping with its original design...

It has a lot of asbestos in his structure, so it has to be renewed anyways...

It will smarten up what is a drab and ugly building.

Now that you mentioned that you think it's drab and ugly, my opinion has totally changed! Screw the architectural heritage! Let's instead make it look like every other glass condo tower from the 2000s... maybe even stick up some random cladding while we're at it as well!
