Indeed. A different view of the edgy Upper West lowrise building by Langhof Architects:

Should be quite classy, almost reminiscent of West Germany's "Wirtschaftswunder (economic miracle)" times in the 50s with those golden profiles and the timeless podium.

Very nice Ludi. My father would have liked to have seen this redevelopment. He was born very close to here, Stromstraße 71. Much has changed on Moabit since he was born....
We were in Berlin for the Marathon last week, and went to Moabit/Wedding to visit friends. I see that the demolition of the old post war buildings is almost complete, but also, some of the old brewery facade have also been demolished!! Such a shame....

Very good news. I would love to see Berlin with a bigger stance in the global economic engine.

BERLIN | Projects & Construction

@ tiaren I agree fully. German cities are not afraid of building classic buildings that has some local historical connection. There are good examples in Hamburg as well. The rest of us receive some international standard Lego-boxes that are said to be "groundbreaking"

Lufthansa Mulling Berlin as Base for Long-Haul, Low-Cost Flights

Deutsche Lufthansa AG may offer long-haul flights from Berlin for the first time in a decade as Europe’s second largest carrier expands its low-cost arm.

Eurowings is looking at stationing Airbus Group SE A330 wide-body jets in the German capital, Chief Executive Officer Carsten Spohr said at the city’s Tegel airport Monday. It’s already due to get seven of the planes by the end of next year for flights from Cologne to destinations including Dubai and Mauritius.

While Berlin is “one of the fastest growing air-travel markets in Europe,” three in four passengers fly for private rather than business reasons and are more price sensitive, making the Eurowings model ideally suited, Spohr said.

Lufthansa’s last long-haul route from the city, to Washington, was scrapped in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

In the short-haul market, a Berlin base would help Lufthansa take on Ryanair Holdings Plc, which re-introduced domestic German flights this year, as well as local rival Air Berlin Plc. Spohr, who last month split the company’s airlines into premium and low-cost groups, said completion of the new Berlin Brandenburg airport, delayed until 2017, is not a prerequisite for the plan.

Eurowings is set to take over all of Lufthansa’s European flights away from Frankfurt and Munich as Spohr seeks to sharpen competition with both low-cost carriers and rivals from beyond Europe led by the big three Gulf airlines.

It looks like an amazing view but I am afraid of height and am absolutely sure I will not go up there.

Stresemann-Quartier / Gazprom Germania @Potsdamer Platz

New Berlin Style wherever we look, this city finally gets some homogenous metropolitan beauty back,
after decades of bland, random international style bullcrap!
Finally Berlin is turning into a truly representative capital city for Germany, besides being a creative bumhole.

Ah well, let's also add the HD renders for Stresemann-Quartier / Gazprom Germania next to Potsdamer Platz.

Kudos to Tiaren! A tasteful setbacked body, lovely in shape. And that courtyard!
