I know, the cladding was a bit of a let-down for those anticipating a new landmark. Still, I believe it didn't came as much of a surprise, considering this is SoM's usual low key high-tech approach at work here. In effect, the tower may appear to fade into the dull Almaty skyline and blend in with the surrounding mountain scenery rather than engage the eye.
