The last pillar is in place at Køge Nord, only the scaffolding is left to be removed.

Is it a mistake, or will the clock and the departure board be at the wrong angles? It seems very impractical to have them like that, although I like the provocativeness of it

It's very intentional. But I'm sure they will be a supplement to the correctly placed boards.

The artist is imagine that the trains drives by warp speed and so is the reason that gravity and time has been distorted or something like that.

Personally I think its boooooooring but who am I to judge :-)

If the materials are of the best quality I think that the blue Ny Ellebjerg station with the astro nomical clockwill look very good but I´m just fearing that the blue material will look cheap.

The new underground station at Ny Ellebjerg has started to circulate in various city planning offices.

To me (and others) surprize they have opted for a more expensive but more user friendly solution with a central underground mezzanine (or what its called) where the stairs and elevators from all platform meets up.

This underground level will most likely be extended under the Øresund line when/if they build the platforms on these tracks.

An aerial from Metroselskabet, of the Nordhavn (development area) metro branch from the underground Nordhavn station to the elevated Orientkaj, the temporary terminus.
The S bane station is almost visible in the bottom right hand corner. There will be a subway link under the road between the 2 stations.

2 somewhat related news.

Ansaldo STS and Metroselskabet will test a new system that can adjust the headway after demand.

And the S-train can probably be driverless by 2030, look at "se rapporten her (Engelsk)"

From the fact sheet
Quote:
Hmm, metro had the same system and they decided to scrap it, so I wonder if they are making the same mistakes?

Are you sure it isn't the same thing.

I was under the impression that the only difference is that they installed platform screen doors so newspapers/garbage etc didn't fell onto the tracks.

If they change the whole system that would have been a large operation with track closures etc etc.

One thing I don't understand is why they didn't prepare for 4 car operation while they installed the doors any way.
Right now they have only made space for 2 set of doors on each side of the platform but not actually installed the doors.

If they had done it then it would only have been the underground stations they needed to work on (and adding a 4th car of course)

My guess is the extension of the metro system is a great opportunity for an integrated transport map, here is my proposal:

- Metro and Rail on the same map
- Schematized landscape
- Downtown area schematized but close to real geography

One of the first test rides (if not the first) on the city circle line.

Thanks for the information, I didn't know about these projects.

I have added the light rail line, fits the design pretty well

As for the high speed line, when it opens, I guess adding high speed icons at København H and Køge should be enough.

That is a pretty map I have a few small corrections to the lines though: The regional trains (grey lines) do not stop at Vesterport and line H (red line) doesn't stop at Peter Bangs Vej and Langgade. There are also a few regional trains that go along the S-train tracks via Ny Ellebjerg and back to the trunk line between Danshøj and Hvidovre. This isn't shown in the Copenhagen S-train map though, for some reason...

The line colours seem very light, especially compared to the metro lines. I see it's a recurring design choice on your maps to make the S-trains/urban trains lighter in colour. Sadly, that doesn't work all too well in Copenhagen due to the very small metro system.
In any case, still a very pretty map!

As a sidenote, the map only shows weekday daytime services, since (to save money) they have a different service pattern on evenings and another on weekend nights. This means each map everywhere is actually three maps adding to confusion
