Freedom of speech must be allowed but one must be responsible and sensitive to the people concerned.

I think Papua can be an ASEAN topic but one must also understand the sensitivities of the other people.

I live in a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society where Understanding the sensitivites of the other people is very important in daily lives.

For example, now is Ramadan, and as a non-Muslim citizen in a Muslim-majority country, one should not be eating or drinking or even talking about food in front of my Muslim colleagues, despite legally there is nothing wrong of doing so but one has to be really considerate.

Aside of this polemic issue, a second medal of weightlifting has been added into collection. Thank you Priyatno for gaining silver medal for Indonesia.

There was joy as well for Indonesia, with the Southeast Asian nation claiming its second medal of the games in weightlifting.

Sad...

Malaysian double divers finished 7th in Final 8 of Women’s Synchronised 10m Platform

Malaysia’s national diving coach from China, Yang Zhuliang said it was not their best performance Tuesday.

“Too much pressure especially on Pandelela."

Chinese divers Chen Roulin and Wang Hao won the gold with 368.40 points, Mexica’s Alejandra Crozco Loza and Paola Espinosa Sanchez grabbed the silver (343.32) while Roseline Filion/Meaghan Benfeito of Canada took the bronze (337.62).

Arab fans show big support to Saudi-Filipino swimmer Jasmine Alkhaldi

By Ahmed Suhaimi
Al Arabiya

Jasmine Alkhaldi, a Saudi-Filipino swimmer, who represents the Philippines in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, has been receiving dozens of comments from Arabs on her Twitter account over the past few days, wishing her the best of luck. Yasmin is participating in the 100-meter freestyle event in the Games.

“Oh. I can’t understand and speak Arabic but THANK YOU so much for all your tweets of support. I will definitely do my best,” Jasmine wrote on her Twitter account, after her fans wished her to become a winner of the gold medal. Her followers assured her that many people in Saudi Arabia are following her and wish her the best of luck.

The 19-year-old Jasmine was born in Paraņaque, to a Saudi father and a Filipino mother. She holds the Philippine record for the 100-m and 50-m butterfly. She won three gold medals in the Southeast Asian Age Group Championships in 2011.

“This will be my first time going to the Olympics,” she had told ABS-CBNnews.com in an interview before the kicking off of the London event. “Not everyone can make it to the Olympics.”

“Ever since I was a kid, this was a dream – to be part of the Olympics,” she added.

For Jasmine, making it to the London Games is the highlight of her athletic career so far, even though she has also competed in the Youth Olympics.

“It’s really amazing to achieve the qualifying time and to be able to be here and compete for the Philippines,” she said.

I listed down 6 possibilities:

1. If they are Malay Muslims and they do not fast without a valid reason, then they would have done wrongs unto themselves.

2. They might not be Muslims but have Bumiputera status. Our native population from Sabah and Sarawak (Malaysian Borneo) may look like ordinary Malays but many of them may not be Muslims. FYI, 70% of population in Sarawak State are Christians.

3. They are not Malay Muslims. Many dark-colored Malaysian Chinese can be mistaken with a Malay.

4. They have a valid reason to break fast, normally for sick person or weak ladies or pregnant ladies. I heard some contract workers might have this rule as well. They can delay their fasting to a future date.

5. They might be immigrants from somewhere else, such as Myanmar.

6. All Malaysian athletes who are Muslims participating in Olympics are allowed to delay their fasting period to a subsequent month.

Here's a quiz:

1.
Guess whether she is a Malay? Chinese? or Indian?

Ok Thanks for your perspective!

However, the ones I saw are girls who speak Malay and wear HIJAB, headscarf, so i'm quite surprised.

Very bad culture of patronage.

There is no use of having good skyline when skyscrapers are now used as Political Advertisements.

Another one: (Maju means progress in Malay. It says "Progress with Barisan Nasional for the sake of the country's future".)

New rail passenger coach for Malayan Railway (KTMB) built by Indonesian train manufacturer, INKA

Source : http://zkeretapi.blogspot.com/2012/0...ka-madiun.html

This is a recent order made in 2011 by Malayan Railway (KTMB). Indonesian train manufacturer (INKA) supplies several passenger coaches for KTMB.

It has top speed of 120 km/h, capable of operating up to 40 C in maximum temperature.

There are two types of toilet on the coach, the sitting toilet and the squatting toilet. Toilet flushing can be done with just a touch of a button.

This is the interior of the coach. Note the absence of seats on the coach. This is because KTMB will do the interior fitting (including seats) by themselves in Malaysia.

Ready for shipment.

The coaches are being loaded onto ship bound for Malaysia.
