Thanks Ciudad, that’s one of my questions already as it happens. I’m focussing on the new public areas, trying to get an idea of how their completion schedule fits into the overall project. I’ll report back.
Incidentally it looks like they’ve made a lot of progress with the main bridge already. Arky |

The webcam shows them lowering collosal concrete bars onto the bridge using a huge mobile crane today: http://www.constructionatkingscross.com/progress.html

So no word yet on the winning design for the piazza redevelopment?

Ciudad: they are "not hopeful" about finding the funding for the glass bridge. They will likely ask Thomas Hardwick to come up with a cheaper design.
I don't have an answer about the piazza, sorry. Arky |

The engine shed in Kings Cross is completely covered now on the underside with a white sheet.
While there I saw a Harry Potter tour group of people wearing wizards hats :P. |

No sign of the reconstruction of the lighthouse building then?
Was to be undertaken by Latitude Architects.... Not sure if it's been mention on the thread yet... |

yes it looks like it's rotting away nicely there, shame that and other buildings renovated around there would do wonders for the area.

Quote:
The whole thing was assembled in sections at the open end of the shed. Each section was attached to rails which had been previously attached to the main roof supporting ribs. Then a section was slid along to its current position. It doesn't look as if they're adding any more sections so presumably they will just complete half of the roof then move it up to the north end. |

Geeks might want to watch them using a crane to pour concrete onto the bridge today, at least I think that’s what they’re doing: http://www.constructionatkingscross.com/progress.html

Love the pics el Greco. Gorgeous one of the old Fish and Coal Offices – it will be amazing when they renovate and open them up to the canalside, like a mini Camden Lock market.
Did you happen to photograph them working on the new bridge? Arky |

Wawd - check out the rest of this thread for references to the 'lighthouse building' - it's a long story.

Here you go guys. Personally I'm sorry to see the back of the old chimneys, I'm not sure if the "armadillo" rooftop suits the rest of the building...........still it's better than demolition...........
