Yeah we call it "Mainhattan" because of the local river "Main" + "Manhattan"
But sometimes we even call Frankfurt "Big Äppel"
A mix of all known "Big Apple" + Äppel (the famous frankfurt apple wine)

Of course its not the last skyscraper. ECB is UC now as well. What a weird comment.

The final height of the tower will be anounced soon at http://twitter.com/tower185

It seems as if Vivico wants to keep us in suspense.
Today Vivico twittered that the tower will be higher than 186m.

Hopefully there will be a daily announcement for the next two weeks.

The massive podium definetely supports something taller than 186 or even 204m

it wont get much higher then this, but there are rumors that the top of the building is currently redesigned, so there may still be some change of design..
anyway, some pics shot today

This complex is so insanely huge. It's gonna be filled up with offices and stuff? Does Frankfurt really need that much office space?

The base looks a bit like the ARGE building in Oldenburg.

no one would build such a building, if there was no demand for it. despite the crisis and the relatively high vacancy rate, there is always room for new skyscrapers in the city. most of the vacant office space in frankfurt is old and not suitable for lettings anymore (that's why many old 50's and 60's office buildings are being replaced with much needed residential units). most projects currently going up in the city have tenants already - T185's anchor tenant is pricewaterhousecoopers. years ago many companies moved out of the city center due to high rents and now they're returning. other companies are expanding. frankfurt is one of the most important office markets in europe, that's why the demand for office space is higher than in most cities, despite the crisis.

great updates, guys. I wonder how the redesign of the top section will look like.

today is the first day I can see T185 from my window (see mobile pic below, my mobile phone doesn't have a good zoom, but I can see the first floor above the city horizon):

I was walking on the area yesterday evening, got out from the SBahn in Gallus, walked to Messe and passed close this tower. Not only the tower but all the group under construction is huge.
