yes, it looks very impressive from the west. I can hardly imagine how it's going to look like once the skyline plaza and the grand hyatt developments start next door. the entire area will be a forest of dozens of cranes.

@erbse: in, or better, above

on T185's official twitter page it says the tower reached a height of 107m today (see PIC from the roof).

indeed. the best thing about it, the view is changing constantly.

today one of the webcams was down for a minute or so, and a picture of the site before the tower began to grow was displayed. it's interesting to see it in comparison with a picture of today (the webcam is working again).

Amazing to see Frankfurt growing like that

Quite impressive for a town that "small".

Great photos - thx Patrick!

I am wondering, if Tower 185 will reach more than 200m (incl. all technical facilities)

I have to disagree. Always fancied this tower, however start to think that it looks very 70's like.

yeah, I'm not sure about the cladding (of the tower only - the base is fantastic) either. so far I'm a little disappointed, but I'm going to wait with my final judgement until the end. apart from that it is a quite impressive sight to see the tower in person. it's a great 200m filler, imo. apparently the design of the top section of the tower has been changed. it seems the final height of the tower has changed too. hopefully we will know more soon.

great update, n! thanks.

The shape reminds me of Junior-Haus at Kaiserplatz from 1951. But 70's? Are there any buildings from that decade with such a 3D-effect, caused by the triangles on the facade?

Btw. I count one new floor from June, 9th... so around 104 meters tall, and - correct me if I'm wrong - 29th floor has started on top.

I think Christoph Mckler (the architect) mentioned that this building was an inspiration for his concept
