Can somone please tell me what that thing in the square is? Is it a memorial, sculpture, temporary art installation or something?

btw, the marble paving is superb!!

, my granny lives there and I spend a part of almost every summer there

.. A beautiful town, The Basilica of Euphrasius is on the UNESCO WH list, the old town is charming altho there are just toooooo much tourists there nowdays for my taste at least, it's like Venice

(best to visit it very early in the morning - 5 o'clock would be ideal

).. The Beaches are great and towards the south there are small isles to explore with kayak.. there is also the St Nicholas (Sveti Nikola) island adjacent to the old town:

@neorion: I think there are no inscriptions on the sculpture, i remember checking it out once, it's hollow and it was placed there a couple years back, dunno what it symbolises

.. the marble paving is also recent but superb yeah, there are also blue LED's in some places like the ones on the new Split riva...

@Iva: Beautiful pictures Iva, tho photos should go to "Your Cities"..

! meni je fora onaj parkič na kraju dekumanusa, posebice kad je puuno ljudi pa dodješ tamo i čuješ sav onaj hustle and bustle u pozadini a pred sobom lagano udaranje valova uz obalu, dobro mjesto za kontemplaciju

..

btw jel se možda nešto novo gradi?
