"Cheyenne Saloon" opens back up tonite, Valentine's Day, at CSS. It will feature country music entertainment including the band Lone Star.
CSS's rebirth has seen the opening of Ceviche, Brick & Fire, The Dessert Lady, and now Cheyenne Saloon. PTP has seen Urban Flats, Volcano's, Bento Cafe, Salon Elyse, and Scottrade open, with Corona Cigar, Cool Blue Burrito, and Cold Stone opening soon. Bola Italian Eatery has about 1 1/2 months of buildout left. |

^It is great to see the Cheyenne Saloon once again back open for business, this is one of the great Orlando venues and is worth preserving. Getting Pearlman out of Church Street was the best thing that could have happened. I hope the citizens of Orlando embrace it and bring it back to it's former glory.

![]() apparently, many of the former patrons and workers from Cheyenne's glory days were there last night. I met a couple of them, local news reps, etc... The place is simply amazing; it's got two tiers of balconies on either side of the stage, with two more levels of bar areas and kitchen/dining above that towards the back, with another bar on the second level and balconies overlooking Church St. It's got something like 5 different levels; a truly beautiful place. |

Corona Cigar opened last Tuesday (10 days ago) in PTP North. Full bar, retail store, and kitchen (CUban sandwiches and the like) to begin serving at end of March. Great buildout; great atmosphere; and quickly becoming Plaza's hippest hangout. They replaced the exterior metal doors with hand carved wooden doors, and have outdoor seating as well.

Cool Blue Burrito opened up in the Plaza S. Tower last month.
Cold Stone looks close to opening any day now in Plaza N. Tower. NYPD Pizza, the former Pearlman pizza joint farther north on Orange, is in buildout stage in Plaza S. Tower. Bola Italian Eatery is also still in buildout stage in the north tower. |

So, in other words, 'retail' just means a bunch of new eateries.

haha, apparently. let's face it, downtown Orlando has the best places to eat in all of the metro area. most people are still disillusioned to think that disney has the best restaurants, but they don't. hehehe.
anyway, retail still seems far off, sadly as that is. talked to a girl yesterday who couldn't wait for the 55 west to open up because of the retail. it's gonna be hard because a lot of stores will need to open up, suffer from the lack of foot traffic, and then eventually people will slowly start to come downtown to shop. it will happen; it has in other cities. the only stores that typically can support a loss like they will (I'm sure) when they first open up downtown is corporations (because other locations' profits make up for the loss), but i just year after year don't see any corporate retail (at least, large corporate retail) wanting to move any further towards downtown than Bumby. :-(

So anyone know what's going on with that movie theater in the Plaza? Amstar backed out of it, then I remember reading AMC took it over a while ago and was planning on opening, and that was the last I heard. Is the theater dead again? For some reason it seems like it is past AMC's planned opening date.

Hamburger Mary's and Rustic Steakhouse are set to open at CSS on May 7 or 8.
![]() as for the cinema, AMC is still the operator last I checked and RP of Beverly Hills, who also own the retail and parking at Plaza now, are either the new owners of the cinema or partners with Kuhn in that project. |

Daily News is an eatery. Most of these I would not consider retail, especially car rental places. (retail typically means selling something bought from a wholesaler or mfr.) Does anybody know what's going on with Ego Lab? Why the big wooden board in front of it?

![]() Corona is a bar, except half of the space is devoted to retail. Well, at least 16 on that list are pure retail as you stated above...and that's MOST of what I posted above. ![]() also... -Swalstead Jewelers |
