On the same site is The Castle College/Toyota Technology Centre. I can't remember what it is the two organisations will be doing here but I know it is something special... this is what it will look like (keeping up with the greenery)...

architecturally, this one really intrigues me, i hope highfields turns out as colourful as the renders

btw dan, keep the renders coming, they really crack me up. there's some kind of war going on between the black flying army and the white ground-based army in the first one. man, this could end up being the most bizarre theme park on earth

The Science Park will be a real asset when its done. It will allow for some large scale industry to move into some quality designed labs, as opposed to the recycled old warehouses that were around Dunkirk beforehand. Nottingham University is heavily involved with the science park, with a lot of spin off companies by academics being based there. Nanoscience is a key area that Nottingham is well ahead of the game on. Nottingham is certainly the premier centre for this exciting science in the UK.

The Jubillee campus is a phased development, where the construction at present is phase 2. Phase 1 is the campus as it is now, and phase 3 will include more student accomodation, research facilities and department buildings either side of triumph road. Most of the development is on the site where Raleigh factory used to be. The university actually owns most of the land currently occupied down that road as well, along with some of the land where the garages are on Derby road, so I think maybe futher exciting plans could come in the future.

As i drove by yesterday it seemed they had quite a lot of stuff still in those warehouse.. I hope the Uni have plans to move up that side of town in the future. Isn't the uni amonst the best in the country? I'm sure they're within the top 10... I remember when I was in school and thinking about going to Uni I say that Nottingham ranked best in the country for Architecture courses...

I like the way the white portion sits on the glass wall behind. This is quite a good example of a building that while not on the cutting edge of architecture, does not age too badly either, unlike its next door neighbour.

Looking at the picture of the reclading, is that wood they are using to do the reclad? Im guessing that they are painting it that black colour seen in the renders, but im not convinced they have picked the best material there. Still...its an improvment on what it was.

Driving by Jubillee today, they are making rapid progress on it...forgot my camera unfortunately. There is something large going down on the junction of St Peter's Street and Ilkeston road, just by the railway bridge..but i havnt a clue what it is. St peters street is closed right now for whatever it is.

nooo there no wood :O... but I see what your on about...the wood is being put over the green mosaic...maybe this is to protect it i don't know... they said they'd be keeping the green mosaic....no infact...that particular part of the plan will no longer be green...see the plans above.
