28.11.2014 a first section of M11 has been finally opened.
That is 72km section (258-334km), Vyshniy Volochek bypass. Construction cost was 49,6bln rubles. It is toll-free until mid of 2015, max speed is 130 km/h. The whole project (669km) should be finished by 2018.

A video is available as well, this is before the road was officially opened

The road is 2x2 with planned expansion to 3x3

Judging from the photos, I'd say it doesn't have any space reservation for 2x3 lanes. A typical space reservation would consist of either a wide grassy median, or wider bridges to support a future expansion to three lanes without having to rebuild the road entirely.

Widening this motorway to 2x3 lanes would involve a considerable cost.

A space reservation would look like this:

I am guessing that it would be expanded not inwards but outwards

We need a closer look at the bridges to understand if this expansion potential was built in already

Is this also the first stretch of motorway in European Russia with a 130 km/h speed limit?

There are confusing reports regarding that, some people say it is still 110km/h

No, there are 3 stretches with a 130 km/h speed limit on M4 since Oct. 2013.

A circa 900 meter long viaduct opened to traffic in Selyatino, southwest of Moscow. It is part of the A107 ring road around Moscow and is close to the M3 cloverleaf. It crosses a railroad corridor.

Not sure why they haven't done this like you're saying. However, there are actually space reservations on the outer part of the motorway:

What is the condition of the road connecting Moscow with Minsk (Warsaw).

I know there is quite decent M1 magistrala in Belarus. How does it look in Russia? Are there any plans for expansion?

It's probably one of the most imporatant roads connecting Russia with Western Europe (Moscow-Minsk-Warsaw-Berlin)

I've found info that it's also called M1.

You can look it up on GSV or Yandex streetview. Most of it is a single carriageway with two lanes each direction to my knowledge.

How many kilometers of motorways does Russia have at the moment? I don't mean all M roads, but only grade-separated access controlled dual carriageways which would meet criteria of, say, German autobahn or Italian autostrada. I believe there must be some statistic on this somewhere.
