Both interpretations (Moskva and Moscow) are used on guide signs:

Of course, but when you look at a map, Krasnoyarsk is still geographically in central Russia. The country is just so big

The country has very large east, center and tiny west. Same as France, Danmark, UK, USA etc.

Such geographical issues amazes me

The Russian far east is amazingly big too, from Jakutsk to the Bering strait is still a staggering 2.900 kilometers as the crow flies.

The Krasnoyarsk Krai is 56 times the size of the Netherlands

Isn't speed limit on Russian motorways 110 km/h?

Russia is a huge country that needs MUCH more highways and the govt. knows this, if everything goes as planned we should have lots of fresh content in this thread for many years to come.

I have a mental image of russian truck drivers as being "badass" in the sense they make old trucks with heavy loads go through the most challenging terrains and weather ever and in massive quantities so they keep thousands of towns supplied with what they need, pretty cool IMO but not good for the economy.

These new highways i've seen in the pics look really good, must be quite challenging and fun (well prepaired because i'm not a badass russian truck driver ) driving through them in winter. This will improve a lot the quality of lives of millions of russians by lowering the high transport costs many places suffer there.

Thank you for the pics and keep em coming please.

@ruslan33: is it a motorway all the way to Ukraine? Or are there also traffic lights and normal intersections?

Not from what I see in western Europe. They usually have the newest trucks around.

That used to be totally different 10 years ago though.
