It is import statistics.

KAMAZ is not popular as a long-range truck, mostly KAMAZ is used in concrete mixers, dump trucks etc

Ural mainly produces army trucks

I know most truck drivers aren't like that in Russia, it's just a mental image of something special about a part of russian truck drivers that you don't see elsewhere, i've seen several articles about these truck drivers, it's simply amazing.

The one on the right looks like a railway bridge to me.

I don't mean the two parallel bridges, I mean the one road bridge looks like it's a viaduct for most of it, but the section closest to where the picture was taken is a suspension bridge.

It's probably like this in order to let space for the bigger ships to pass under the bridge.

If everything goes as it should construction should start begin next year. Deal is already signed and the builder will be France's Vinci S.A (biggest construction company in the world)

Right now, they want to change alot of roads in Russia into toll roads. So most likely, the Moscow-SPB motorway will be toll.

Unfortunately, communism didn't make motorways a priority for us like it did in North Korea. The MKAD and the Vilnius-Klaipeda highway were the only true motorways in the whole Soviet Union.

MKAD was built in middle 1990's on a place of small highway.

I believe it was constructed somewhere in the mid-60's, and then retrofitted to motorway standards in the 90's indeed.

Did Lithuania really have any road up to motorway standards in times of USSR? Didn't the Kaunas-Klaipeda road have U-turns or sth else non-motorway? Btw, I think the road M2 Moscow - Serpukhov was a motorway already in USSR. There are these ancient pics of it on the net.
