OzFrog's Day Trip To Bendigo, 4 August 2007 (B/W WARNING - LOTS OF IMAGES!!)
A few pics I took today from my short trip to Bendigo...
Firstly the train stops:           And finally, welcome to Bendigo:  The station entrance:  The Discovery Centre:  Bendigo Marketplace:  Sacred Heart Cathedral in the distance:  Bendigo Bank's HQ: [IMG]http://ozfrog.thehoddlegrid.net/bendigo/BendigoBankHQ20070804.jpg [/IMG] Hunter House:  Mitchell St, looking east:  And looking west:  Another one of Bendigo Bank HQ, this time from Mitchell St:  Hargreaves Mall:  Alexandra Fountain:  Looking up View St:  The Talking Tram stop on corner of High St and View St:  The ad banner for the Talking Tram stop:  Statue, Solider's Memorial, and Visitor's Information Centre:  Bendigo Creek, in all its emptiness:  Shamrock Hotel:  More Bendigo Bank HQ:  Old Salvation Army building, now the Red Cross:  Ome more of Bendigo Bank HQ:  And this is the last one of Bendigo Bank HQ, I promise:  Greater Bendigo City Council building:  Bendigo Town Hall:  Bendigo Library:  And lastly, some views of the station:    Enjoy!

Good to see you finally got there OzFrog.
I hope you get another chance to fully explore this great regional city, and if you do, venture up View Street where you will find great cafes, antique shops and one of the best regional art galleries in Australia.

Gotta love the Shamrock Hotel... And next time you're there, check out Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral... just awesome.... (Some pics I took on my last visit)

Bendigo is without doubt one of provincial Australia's grandest cities. For the international tourist this city is both a surprise and treasure to visit.
