Our biggest shopping area isnt a mall. Its a district of Downtown San Francisco called Union Square.

San Francisco really does have an awesome retail district.

Hopefully Victoria, TX, has something more going for it. Even by suburban standards some of that is pretty damn desolate.

I didn't think it was too bad by suburban standards. The Cheesecake Factory seemed pretty nice.

San Francisco best malls IMO are either WestField on Market or Sony's Metreon solely because of the PlayStation store. I stay away from Union Square, too many tourist. Someone here should post recent pictures of Mall of America, I'm really interested in seeing US biggest mall and what makes it so special beside its huge size.

The Cheesecake Factory is a pic I took in Sugar Land, TX, a Houston suburb.

Victoria, TX:

I hate to say this, but that could be anywhere in the US. I don't have a problem with it, but that looks ultra-typical.

What's so bad about that? I know it is typical and could be anywhere. Why are you saying 'I hate to say this'? It doesn't bother me either.

Yea, we are getting a lot of new stuff though:
-Candlewood suites
-possibly Joe's Crab Shack
-our 3rd Starbucks
-Tokyo Grill and Sushi Bar
-another bank
-etc.
and there is a lot of land for sale

And we have a lot of stores and restaraunts
-Chilis
-Olive Garden
-Best Buy
-Kohls
-Academy
-HEB Plus
-Starbucks
-Target (w/ a Starbucks inside)
-Petsmart and Bed Bath and Beyond (as you saw in the pic)
-Ross

But yea, buy suburban standards there is A LOT we don't have.

The Victoria stuff looks much worse because of the Texas habit of putting wide fringes of nothing between the road and the parking lot, a la Home Depot. Some trees would help things greatly.

I wasn't talking about which stores you have. If I was, I wouldn't be impressed by chains.

I don't go to the mall very often.

But, when I do...I go to Buckland Hills Mall, which is about 7 miles northeast of downtown. The whole place is crazy with development...a lifestyle center was just built nearby. From this mall, there are about 4 whole miles of strip malls, big box stores, you name it.

Here's a pic of the interior. The mall looks nice inside. Looks like a early morning pic.

Because I don't like the fact that certain aspects of the US look the same no matter where you go. I could wake up and look out my window and see that and I wouldn't know where I was....I could be 30 miles from my house.

You could probably google those since they should be so easy to find.
