Hong Kong 2007 - Part 21 (Old District, New Skyscrapers)

It has been a very beautiful couple of weeks in Hong Kong. We've had pretty much 3 weeks of continuous sunshine and blue skies. So the photographers have been out and about capturing Hong Kong's beautiful summer.

Accompanying Music : http://ling.5755.com/download/ringmp...6555464811.mp3

1. Welcome.

2. The property market is doing well these days, so developers are starting to release major projects that have been sitting empty awaiting the right price to arrive.

3. Union Square continues to rise.

4. Poor folks at the high-end One SilverSea will see a new skyscraper neighbour next door as that parcel of land was recently sold in auction. Sucks to pay so much to face another set of windows.

6. Watching the boats pass by.

8. Many redevelopment projects are going to surface in the western parts of Hong Kong Island. Expect this part of the city to look very differently in a while.

9. Yet another redevelopment project rising in Kowloon.

10. Bank of China's other building in Hong Kong.

14. A busy street scene into Tsim Sha Tsui.

17. Here is an example of misleading advertising. The price seems too good to be true, but the harbour views should cost a lot more than that minimum price.

18. To Kwa Wan is one of the older districts in Hong Kong that is awaiting massive redevelopment. A new train line is expected to pass by here, while the neighbouring Kai Tak airport site should start to change hopefully soon.

31. This cattle depot has been transformed into an artists' village.

44. This huge redevelopment now dwarfs the rest of the shorter and older buildings, and brings into question whether these skyscraper walls are desired in Hong Kong. Quite a lot of rumblings among the people these days, and we're making our voices heard.

Nice Photos

I hope to visit Hong Kong before all the traditional neighborhoods are gone.

Good set. Nice views of the island skyline. You`re lucky to have taken so many pics before the weather really started to turn for the worse.
