What's the status of the IC4 trains? Are they still withdrawn from service?

Yes it is a huge disaster for the Danish people, much money is wasted and poured into the sink, so the taxes are so high :-)

Nothing, DSB accepted a 1,5 billion DKK discount and now handles all the the trains by themself when delivered from Italy.

Still withdrawn from service... Not good. Is there any prognosis on when the trains will re-enter into service?

The old IC3 and some loco hauled double decker trains will cover all departures.

Aalborg in the nothern part of Denmark will only get one intercity service a hour instead of 2 because the regular intercity service will end in Aarhus instead.

Some big´ish news today, only in danish but i will sum it up.

http://www.trm.dk/da/publikationer/2...+jernbanen+mv/

Lunderskov - Esbjerg line will be electrified in 2015

Doubletrack on the line between Vojens and Vamdrup in 2015

Studying of the cost of electrification of a couple of lines

Eastern Denmark:

Køge Nord - Næstved: possibility to reroute trains on the new Fehmarn line via this line and also share trains.

Roskilde - Kalundborg: Then all lines in eastern Denmark will be electrified and the rolling stock will then be the same for all the lines.

Western Denmark:

Fredericia - Aarhus: Southern part of the Jutland main line.

Aarhus - Aalborg: Northern part of the Jutland main line, some part of this line (Hobro - Aalborg) is planned to be upgraded for faster train services from 120 km/h to 160 km/h or more and enviromental studies are underway.

We also have one of the highest windmill power ratios? Long time ago i was informed that on average 25% of our electricity supply was from wind energy, 30% in "good weather".

On average 20%, according to the Danes themselves...

Ironically Denmark has some of the highest CO2 emissions per unit of electricity produced, because most electricity generation is actually coal.

Denmark has been "blessed" by having Sweden and Norway next door - both a selling really cheap electricity ( Norwegians with their hydro and Swedes with their nuclear plants ) so we actually buy quit a lot and then supliment by local sources such as coal, wind, solar and other forms of combustion..

As for the IC4s - what a effing joke - they knew they were crap years and year ago yet they kept on buying the crap instead of cancelling the dela nd now they will be paying for that mistakes for years to come..

They mights as well sell it now and use what little cash that can be saved on the future IC5 model...

Note to self - never buy Italian made transportation!

They should just have bought an updated version of the Flexliner (IC3) design...
