And finally the huge railwaybridge over Motorring 4.

First driving from the Køge Bugt Motorway towards the Holbæk motorway in direction of Copenhagen.

And now coming from the north from Ballerup on Motorring 4 towards the Køge Bugt Motorway.

The IC4 has started to run with 2 trains coupled together, a small milestone for a very troubled train.

Another bigger milestone is that the double track between Vamdrup and Vojens in Sønderjylland has opened.

This line was a huge bottleneck for all the freight trains between Germany and Sweden/Norway.

This video has been recorded on the 4th of August near Sommersted when the line was opened but there was no electricity available the first week so the freight trains was pulled by diesel trains.

Why do they use rustic poles for the catenary posts?

Its what Ikea told them to do.

Seriously, it's because they're temporary for the duration of construction.

(If you are referring to the ones on this page-those are light poles for the highway, btw)

If you are referring to (?) the video from between Vamdrup and Vojens, then these catenary posts are the standard equipment on Danish railroads. As far as I remember (someone may want to correct me) they are made of iron which is allowed to rust to the point where the layer of oxidation on the surface protects the pole from further corrosion. The idea, I believe, is that brown poles fit better into nature than the gray aluminium which is used in most other places.

The new "sporskifte" is in place. So there is only the tunnel under the motorway missing.

I was in Copenhagen last week, and noticed at Ny Ellebjerg that this station also has platforms on the bypass that allows trains to reach the Oresund railway directly from the Danish Main Line (without having to reverse in Copenhagen Central). Are these platforms in use? Which services call at them?

The Øresund-trains does not pass by on this line. Ny Ellebjerg is situated between Copenhagen Central Station and Hvidovre Fjern, and is used by trains on the Mainline, Roskilde - Copenhagen to bypass Valby. A few regional trains call there.
