As usual the Copenhagen Ringsted Railroad is heavily featured on the aerials of the motorway expansion.

They have changed the format so I can´t download a single picture, so I get all from way back when the construction started.
Point being, you have to click on the link to get the pictures.

Stockholm - Copenhagen SJ services to resume
Thursday, February 04, 2016

SWEDISH national train operator SJ will restore X2000 services between Stockholm and Copenhagen from March 1 after reaching an agreement with Danish infrastructure manager Banedanmark on security arrangements at Copenhagen Central

On December 17 the Swedish government passed legislation requiring passenger identification checks on trains entering Sweden. The law stipulates that checks must be carried out at stations before boarding, but SJ argued that this would not be possible at Copenhagen Central and subsequently withdrew services to the Danish capital when the law came into effect on January 4

Long time since my last photo tour, you know winter and bike trips doesn´t add up.

Little activity near Egedesvej.

When looking south the cranes building the tunnel under the motorway is visible.

And the big one for today

A new railroad bridge over Tåstrupvej and a embankment connecting this one to the bridge over Cementvej.

And a little bit further up at Karlslunde Mosevej where they to my surprise hasn´t been doing much at the railway bridge.

The real work has started today on the electrification on the Lunderskov - Esbjerg railroad.

Last year they constructed 10 new bridges and other ground work.

In the long run (2030s-2040s), once the red lines are electrified, will they move on and cover the rest of the network? Will it go to battery-power?

Some lines would be quite uneconomical to electrify, especially the one along the west coast. The Lint 41 does its job just fine there. In Århus, the line to Grenå will probably be electrified all the way as a part of the upgrade to light rail/regional tram.

If any new lines should be electrified, I could imagine the intensively run line Odense - Svendborg would be one, and Skanderborg - Herning (maybe all the way to Skjern) would be another good contestant. But I doubt the politicians would be willing to give away money not for highways...

Some other railway bridges under construction, first we are at Cementvej and Tåstrupvej in Solrød.

And the Ølbyvej bridge south of Ølby is finally opened for car traffic after a few months delay.

I can count 6 cranes in this picture.

The goverment is making a headstart, on the Fehmarn belt project.
They are investing 7,5 billion DKK(1 billion Euro) on the railway between Ringsted And Nykøbing F.
The part between Nykøbing F and the Fehmarn belt tunnel, will be build at a later time.

Projects completed by year 2021.
speed upgrade to 200 km/h, doubletrack and the implementation of ERTMS level 2,5.

Projects completed by year 2024
Electrification of the line, a new bridge over Storstrømmen(replacing the old singletrack bridge), and a level free juntion in Ringsted.

The reduction in travel times are also achieved by using the new high speed rail, between Ringsted - Køge - Copenhagen.

The Aarhus-Grenaa line is currently allready being electrified as part of the Aarhus Lightrail project, and will be in service by 2017.

Exit 32 with 5 cranes !!!!!!!!

Here the railway will cross the western ramps on exit 32 and Lyngvej on 2 bridges.

The reason for the many cranes is that the Lyngvej bridge over the motorway will be replaced with a new one with more lanes.

And from the eastern side

Lyngvej is expaned to 2 lanes in each direction
