It seems that G-Star on Division St is closing down. I also noted that Blue Banana in Orchard Sq was due to close but it seems to have been 'saved' by the company.

I know the manageress of Blue Banana in Orchard Sq and it totally came out of the blue that they were closing down. She's grateful to still have a job though. I wonder if the Nottingham one has closed down though

Nottingham still open, it seems that the Doncatraz and Lincoln stores have closed.

The store has been on the market for just over a year now and I can't help but feel that once they've found someone to take the lease Blue banana will be leaving. |

Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield is to be put on the market, according to reports, after one its owners appointed sale advisers.

Just come back from my dinnertime jaunt on The Moor
Not really new shops but more of a shop move Mad Franks (the liquidation stock shop that was in the Walmsleys unit) has moved to where Jonathan James was. However, there were planners within the newly vacated until with floor plans in arms. There also seems to be work being carried out within the Half Price Jewellers unit but unable to see what as the shutter was down

Update on the old Half Price Jewellers unit. The shutters were up at dinner and it's going to be a bakery called 'PoundBakery' It makes you wonder if it'll dent Gregg's presence.....probably not

There really isn't a lot happening in Sheffield is there.
(wanders off to the Leeds or Meadowhall retail thread to avoid losing the will to live) |

Looks like the old Thomas cook unit on the wicker which has been empty for years has finally found a new tenent. Saw people fitting it out as I went past on the coach earlier.

The old Walmsley's/Mad Jacks unit has been taken over by Learn Direct at the bottom of the Moor

S1 Supplements opening soon, just round the corner from Revolution / Bowery.
Great news IMO not really any shops like this in Sheffield at the moment apart from body active, H&B, Decathalon. |

I see that Fancie are going from strength to strength.
They currently just have the kiosk in the winter gardens but I can see them opening a tearoom/cafe in the centre somewhere soon, if this article is anything to go by. Wouldn't exactly be disastrous for Fancie to leave the winter gardens as they work without them anyway and it would be good to have one in the centre. Very big appeal within the region, have to admit I'm a fan. Think it's not just the cupcakes but it's that you can see there is a real creative method working there. Probably can't afford a unit like this but Peace Gardens would be a good spot, otherwise maybe on or off Fargate or up Division Street. http://www.bakeryinfo.co.uk/news/ful...ed_growth.html |
