Apparently, according to the Gold Coast forum, one of the options Sunland is mooting for their Spit site on the Gold Coast is a 500m tall supertall! That would be mondo tall!

Well I just love the ballsyness of frak 300m, frak 400m, let's go 500. Frak the silver lets go straight for the gold. Mind you it's only one of the options apparently, but it would be nice.

Sunland are talking thithing up. Plans to be revealed later this year. It's obviously going to be a massive satement.

i can see it being big and impressive but not 500m.lol this is australia not dubai. i reckon we may see 200m at that location. this would "look" 500m high.

What's your point? Australia is bigger than Dubai and as wealthy on a per capita basis, and SE Qld has a similar population size, just has a lot more NIMBY's and red tape and a lot less ambition.
Doesn't the CASA have a 300m limit in the Gold Coast?

sure does. 305m/1000ft is height limit. only architectural features can go above this.

Saying that I dont think the 500 metre tower will become a reality. Well done for the vision, but would the council or state government be prepared to approve it?
