Whan I lived in Ostrava I always wondered this roundabout in Hrabuvka district. It is quite a curiosity - this kind of roundabouts with tram lines crossing in the middle is very common in Poland, actually several of them in every city with trams. While in Czech republic this is probably the only one in the whole country. I don't mention the Kulatak in Prague as that is a square built around up with buildings addressed as of the square.

Those tall buildings reminded me Katowice. Thanks for a nice puppy!

Nice to see shots of Ostrava. I got lot of good feelings for the city. After all it's a partner city of Katowice and both cities are similar...
image hosted on flickr ![]() In this place I'd like to invite to visit the thread in my signature - really loaded with photos. Major advantage of Ostrava is better condition of pre-WWII buildings, in Katowice due to idiots in authorities most of them is still quite neglected. Katowie on the other hand is not an industrial city anymore - few major factories, mines or steel mills left here. Plus we don't have so many commieblocks - at least I got this impression. Both cities have to face bad stereotypes - we're far from changing them, I hope Ostrava is more succesfull in that. I got some nice memories from the city (especially from CEZ Arena and Stodolni which - I belive - wasn't shown here) and hope to visit it again this winter. Greetings for Ostrava and all Chechs
