Does anyone know any good reason why the road #10 (A10?) is signed as motorway southeast of Bern, between Muri (A6) and Rüfenacht? It's just 1+1 with hard shoulders.

What do you mean? Just because the signs are green (I suppose they are), that doesn't necessarly mean that it's a motorway, all "Schnellstraßen" (where slow vehicles like bikes or tractors aren't allowed; I'm not sure about the correct Swiss term) have green signs. (Another one would be the first kilometres from Spiez to Frutigen on the Lötschberg route or the San Bernardino route).

Sure it is. Isn't a ramp between two longer sections of motorway also a motorway, i.e. motorway rules don't apply? (Stopping, parking, backing etc.)

There are hills over there, I don't know, if there will ever be a motorway there. (4× "there" )

A short ramp, yes, not several kms.

It's actually quite strange, there should be "Autostrasse" signs on it!

The Hirzeltunnel was also proposed several times, but if it ever will be built it will only be a 2 lane tunnel(1+1). It is also in the Verkehrsrichtplan of the canton Zürich as 2+2. http://www.gis.zh.ch/gb4/richtplan/gb.asp?app=RiVkrRev (This is a map that shows all possible future road and train projects in the canton Zürich, you have to zoom in to see it, Red=Roads, Green Rail)
It is not part of the national motorway network!

It's called Autobahn and it is also a Bundesautobahn - but it is not signed as a Autobahn; it's signed as a "Kraftfahrstraße".

(It's hard to describe it in English...)

It's A60, but when you're there, there's the motorroad sign, not motorway? (I mean the 2-lane part of A60) The problem by this Swiss "motorway" is that it even has the motorway sign (but it's not A10 ).

^ It's like single-tube tunnels on motorways. Just before you enter it, there's the-end-of-motorway sign, but it's still signed as A2, for example. Or like in Hungary, where motorways, but also 2-lane expressways, are signed as M*.

Yes because an expressway and a higher-class motorway are over ( in standards ) all kinds of main roads.....That would be the idea!.........(I guess) but inlight "us" which is not the entire truth

The main problem with the Gotthard tunnel is, of course, that even the rail tunnel will not solve the problem, and a 16.5 km tunnel with an AADT beyond 20,000 is more serious accidents waiting to happen even if a good proportion of the trucks are rerouted on rails... And since the remainder of the A2 is a full motorway, traffic will only increase further. I do understand the environmental concerns a second tube brings with it, but I still believe it's a necessity.

You mean the environmental concerns no second tube brings with.

It is rather obvious that a second tube could and probably will generate more traffic. That is not particularly environmentally friendly.
