That ascent is a bitch. When I got into it by my old car from a 60-km/h curve from Martigny, I barely reached 100 km/h for the next 10 km. However, by my current car speed isn't a problem any more.

That scenery is absolutely stunning. The Swiss did very well by making some good motorways in these mountainous areas.

I thought they're also needed on some motorroads... I don't think avoiding a vignette adds up to the time lost on the local roads though.

Ah yes, also motorroads.

BTW Swiss vignette is very cheap though - 25€ a year or sth.

Yeah, but you can only get a year-vignette. I can understand people want to avoid it if you're travelling only a short distance through Switzerland.

Speaking of Liechtenstein, I might visit it in June, I'm in Switzerland then, and plan to drive around the country for a part of my vacation. Maybe I'll hit Liechtenstein too, though I've been there before.

I remember it's basically the same as Switzerland in signage and roads.

Croatia: beautiful to visit, but a huge entrance fee has to be paid in order to cross the front-yard

Sorry Verso, enough OT

yes, you are right, but i want to go just 150-160km on motorways, and i don't think it worth saving 1hour maybe for 24euro.also, when i'm in holiday i like to choose ordinary roads, in order to better discovery a place.however the price is very reasonable for swiss people or for those who are going on holiday in switzerland more than once a year.or maybe i'm speaking from the romanian(low income) point of view.

Nice; nils16, where do you think it's faster from Bern to Besançon? Via La Chaux-de-Fonds or via Orbe? And what about Geneva - Dijon? Via Nyon or via Gex?
