We talk about the JBR wall but with the tallest block, the cluster between JBR and GH and now this project, things are just getting a bit silly at this end of the marina.

Talk about high density residences.

Is anyone else starting to get worried about the 5 oclock traffic in this area when everything is finished?

Also, have a look at the second render - the arse end of the marina... new towers there too?

Take a look at this picture, then paste in Infinity, Damac Heights, the rest of the tallest block, the cluster at GH-TGR and then Dubai promenade. The only space left will be the water channel between Infinity and GH.

Not much room for a sea view for apartments on SZR side plots, like MS and TP. Atleast JBR is orientated so that views are possible from Marina Promenade, Al Sahab etc.

are they going to build a wall of towers on the beach in front of the hotels and JBR as the pic suggests ? - that would be outrageous

Kinda looks like it.

I was angered by the announcement of Al Bateen Tower because it crossed the line as far as I was concerned (Being a 54 floor tower in the hotel zone).

This promenade project is even more outrageous. What next? Are we going to see Towers built out in the water infront of the beaches in the same style as Burj Al Arab?

They surely cant build on the beach in front of the hotels, that would be criminal,if the beach disappears then so do the holidaymakers.

Looks like that might block quite a lot of palm views from JBR.

Steve you got that the wrong way round this project is being put here so that it blocks the View of JBR from the Palm.

Last thing you wan to be doing is relaxing on palm looking at a commie block

I love this project!!

This will add so much life to the marina. Having a beach strip and a wall of ugly jbr behind of it without any relationship was so boring and looked like those poor beach resorts were stuck between them. IMO in these renders the marina looks like a cool holiday resort with a vibrant city life..

I don't agree they will block the view that much. Those who have concerns should look at the JBR first. These are more respectful to the surroundings.

and im sure the beach front apartments will have much better views as they will have both full ocean and nice bright skyline view together. Especially at night, considering now they can see only darkness except some palm views.

I hate this project.

The beach will need to be removed in order to build the towers with accessroad,I understand building on the "trunk" but whats that ugly peice of art at the head all about:

I am truly amazed at the negative comments about this project, which will be the setting for the Landmark, Iconic structure that will define the image of Dubai Marina.

Despite all the amazing buildings that have been constructed in Dubai, the worldwide PR symbol of the country remains the Burj al Arab. Now there will be another unique design for the the world's second '7 star' hotel, at the main entrance into Dubai Marina. This appears to be an icon that - in addition to the Burj Dubai - will be a third such symbol, and could well be the exclusive PR 'cherry on the cake' for Dubai Marina that would be of benefit to all DM investors.

The project is at 90 degrees to the mainland, and will not block any current views. Also, it seems to me that the indistinct 'towers' along the beach are simply intended to represent JBR - the two renders are only meant to promote the new towers on the promontory leading to, and including, the new '7 star' hotel.

And, True Blue, what if there were to be plans for new Burj al Arab type buildings on reclaimed offshore islands in the future? Unless I am mistaken, isn't it that type of visionary project (Burj, Palms, World, Waterfront) that Dubai is all about?

Repetition of icons removes their individuality and diminishes their status. The entrance to the marina is going to have Infinity tower, thats enough for me.

IMO it is possible to go too far and we are approaching that point rapidly.

This project is awesome. As another poster mentioned it breaks the repetetive and somewhat boring feel of JBR with the beach in front. This project really makes the coast more alive and is a beutiful view in itself. Marina residents should be pleased
