If I remember correctly, the difficulty at this site is the underground subway will make construction very tricky.

The area is a huge trend setter despite the built architecture. I don't find the range of styles of the proposed and under construction towers particularly all that different from other areas of the city. One Bloor and Cumberland Terrace are also typical designs of the local firms involved and Deco inspired architecture easily outnumbers those dreaded Clewesian boxes that has so many panties in a twist.

Not nearly as tricky as the Xerox Centre over Bloor Station or 425 Bloor over Sherbourne. It's a much narrower twin tunnel section here and it's not like they're excavating below it. The transfer floor/beams will be costly though.

It's the nicest of the glass tower designs to come along. It's managed to avoid looking sterile and ordinary. Why can't they all be this good? Pretty please, let Toronto get this one.

I think this development looks incredible. But honestly, almost anything would be better than the monstrosity there now.

I'm interested in how they'll tackle building over a subway line. Is it directly above it, or partially above it?

Not to nitpick or anything but an apartment is a unit off of a common lobby. You mean rental tenure.

It takes a lot more than a bunch of doodads to convince me. I just find little rthyme or reason to all the individual pieces and I doubt the likely use of window-wall will improve things. The only saving grace is that B+H is currently shitty out dozens of verison of this style and they are a decent quality firm. Certainly not looking forward to Toronto's version of Sydney's World Tower which is the zenith of smashed, shakening, and pasted.

What is happening with this one? First reported over 2 years ago. It seems as though the complex is still packed with retail business...

I hope the design is re-done I'm not a fan of the random stripes/balconies. I love the size of the podium though and it's impressive to have yet another tower in the neighborhood surpass the height of 1 Bloor West.
