So true, and sad. In the 1930's, the ESB and Chrysler stood above the others, showing their beauty and dominance, now it is in the middle of a crowd of mediocre skyscrapers...

He hates everything that isn't a square. If it has an angle below or above 90 degrees, (ex. the roof of this building) or a curve, he hates it.

Some people need to appreciate true works of art, like this one.

I give the Chrysler Building a 10/10. It is still one of the best skyscrapers after those 80 years and that achievement alone is amazing.

A agree with most that it is absolutely iconic, and I adore the excessive art deco style you find all over the thing. However, and I guess this is why most photos only ever show the upper half, it is totally out of proportions. There is no asthetic swing to the silhouette like on the Empire State Building for example, it's just too fat at the base and gets thin way too early.

8/10 is the best I can do, because of its historical meaning.
