NOTTINGHAM | Favorites...

A while ago pharmj did an award type thing in the Nottingham Thread...i'm hoping we can carry that on in here...it will be good to hear your opinions...

Heres the first question though... whats your favourite building in Notts? Whether Modern or Historical... dosn't matter which one?

Me..i'm gona start it off with the Prudential Building... I think its absolutely fantastic...looks great at night...stands tall.... I love it!

Designed by Alfred Waterhouse and built between 1894 and 1897

i would say that one as well, or maybe another of the gothic-y ones opposite. theres a quality one similar colour behind the council house.

actually my favourite might be st marys church or one of the looming buildings in the lace market (theres loads).

One of my favourites is really small actually, but its the one on Middle Pavement that has Caffe Uno in the bottom of it, next to slug and lettuce. Its really historic and yet sits proudly around all the newer development.

Dan, thats a really great building too, i didnt realise it was lit up like that with colour at night. The council house at OMS looks really good when lit up the way they do at xmas and special events, using diffrent colours behind each pillar and in the different bits of the clocktower.

There are some really nice buildings along the road that the Diesel shop is on. There's a great mix of old and new along there.
