Chris, Im not trying to be rude or anything but those pictures are a little out of date! In fact those pictures were posted by some polish member who was for the most trying to show and make fun of Ukrainian Roads. How we suck and still the third world country or whatever!..We(Ukrainian Forumers) pretty much read their thread they had there and mostly what we saw was just laughing which is really in my case disrespectful to a coutnry which is about to host Euro2012 together with them+just looking on the pictures, he was mostly taking pictures of "****ed up" roads, places...Im sure some of those spots are looking in good shape now then before or going through reconstraction! I mean way taking pictures of massed up roads and wasting ur camara if you can take pictures of nice roads or where there is some progress. Im mostly taking about the Kyiv ones where the guy traveled on the truck. About Crimea, i havent seen those pics before. Thanks for posting

I read a travel story of one guy from Kiev who went to Kazakhstan through Russia. Getting through Russia was no problem, but once he hit Kazakh roads... oh boy... At the same time, roads in Astana and Alma-Ata were very good.

Most of Kazakhstan is extremely remote...

Many people often don't realize how big Ukraine is. It's over 17 times the Netherlands.

Ukraine isn't that big on worldscale. Holland is just awfully small.

I like pics of ****ed up roads. And it's interesting to see them, if they are main roads.

Fine roads. I´ve heard, that M06 has been recently reconstructed and the pictures just confirmed this. Good photoreport in local Ukraininas highways thread as well

Let me ask a few questions and thanks in advance for your answers:

Will Uzhorod-Mukachevo section be fully upgraded to 4lane carriageway? On some sections there are ongoing constructions of additional 2 lanes.

Is Uzhorod bypass M08 planned, or is it already existing road/carriageway?

On which sections of M06 are ongoing, or planned reconstruction works? Will the reconstruction works be continuing on other sections following up the opening of the section Kiev-Mikolayiv-Stryj?

M06 seems to be very good road. I'm judging from Google Maps where almost whole Zakarpatya (or what's its name in English) is available in high resolution. You can see plenty of construction works around the road which is being upgraded on dual carriageway or maybe expressway. Asphalt seems to be black and I'm sure it's also smooth. Since the Google Maps are obviously outdated, now the state of the road is even better I guess. This road is actually better than its Slovak counterpart I/50 and probably also Hungarian road Nr. 4. But, obviously both roads should be replaced by motorways.

Thank you for your explanation , but I would like to answer the Ukrainian guys if possible, because it´s thread about their highways and I am sure they know the situation better than we do. We can just guess and anticipate.

Btw, Svalyava is maybe 70 km from Mukachevo, the road semms to be OK there. Will there be continuation of 4 lane carriageway from Stryj down to Mukachevo? I guess, Uzhorod-Mukachevo road is step-by step upgraded to 4 lanes carriageway, are there further plans to extend it north from Mukachevo?

In Texas, everything is bigger. Texas is bigger than France, and they're proud of it
