Superb, that should raise their economics! Is there a possibility that at least any of them would be built before 2012?

They have made that list due to numerous changes in the Ukravtodor top management and subsequent priority changes.

Weird, Google Earth gives the new motorway between Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk the number R-51 (P-51 in Cyrillic). The M18 keeps the old alignment. You'd think they transferred the number M18 to the new motorway.

I won't blame Ukravtodor, but I sometimes doubt if they really know how the roads run themselves.. Mapping of UA is generally bad, or manually done, often not up to date.

There are the following road numbering systems in UA:

* M-roads
* N-roads (Cyrillic H)
* R-roads (Cyrillic P)
* T-roads

The newer N-roads are barely found on maps, and I doubt about the added value of the N-roads between the M and R roads, I don't think UA really needs a layer of numbering between those. They should extend the M-numbering instead (there are barely numbers over 30 if I recall correctly).

I'd rather see a new number for roads which comply to the strict international motorway specs (those don't include U-turn possibilities in the median, like on M05), for instance the "A" (Avtoban). The best would be to choose a prefix that's the same in Cyrillic and latin scripts, as international traffic will only increase in UA in the future. They have already done that on the license plates in Russia, Ukraine an Bulgaria (maybe Serbia too).

My god... of can someone drive on such a road?
You'll destroy your car...

Are the other main roads from Poland leading to L'viv (M10 and M11) also in such a bad shape? If so, there is a lot of work to be done before 2012...

I drove M11 this summer and it was very bumpy but at least with no potholes. The same applies to M10.

Still, I suppose after this winter they are no longer any better from M09.

Don't you think you are exaggerating a bit? There were and are potholes occasionally from place to place, especially after a harsh winter like the one this year,but such a concentration in a several km section I have never seen even on 4th class roads. The M09 looks like cheese to me. Hope it's about to be repaired thoroughly.
