Decarie Express way. Gotta love all the cars.

Look away from Downtown, towards South-West.

What amazing pictures you are taking with that Sony! Very, very impressive stuff! That last shot looking South West is just spectacular!

If "major" = city > 1M population, then it may be Edmonton.

I wouldn't consider Edmonton a major city. There are about 50 larger in the USA alone, 5 larger in Canada, 9 larger in Mexico, 6 larger in Central America, and 3 larger in the Caribbean. That would make Edmonton barely a top 75. Hardly a major city.

Ashok: that last pic is a great shot of McGill College. It's always been one of the prettiest streets I've come across. It's especially scenic this time of year with the holiday lights.

Well, that's not major either. It's only marginally bigger than Edmonton. I think he was referring to major cities. Ottawa is only 1.1 million.

Montréal is the ONLY major city in the north
I was ther in the winter of 2006/07 and I absolutely fell in love with that métropole... it's so cool and I love the people there. Regarding the french-english-thing I have to say, that in my experience, nearly everybody speaks french AND english there. It's more english-speaking people who don't speak french... I lived in NDG, a more english quarter but lovely anyway ;-)))))

????
It's probably best to leave the language question out of this thread since it has nothing to do with the photos posted.

This sounds similar to what you are saying:
Oh, there are lots of gays there but the area was lovely anyway...

Does that not sound a little condescending to you?
