Cool, not a city whose skyline you see very often. I love the tower at the uni in the north of the city centre (trent?). Didn't realise it was so imposing.

There are 4 buildings in that photo that could really do with being lit up at night.

1 - Nottingham Trent University (Arkwright Building)
2 - The Pod
3 - Pitcher & Piano
4 - St Mary's Church

With all these buildings lit up the Nottingham skyline could so easily be transformed into something really interesting to look at IMO.

Ohh... Stef.. I agree totally... ISt Marys especially... and pitchers and piano.. they've all landmark buildings.. how many cities have church spires so prominent on their skyline? They're all usually block out by taller buildings... not with us though

They should keep it on permanently. I've seen it lit up before but only once or twice and it looks really special.

Victoria Flats should be lit up IMO. They could light up the big antenna on the top that'd look alright.

If its possible I think they should turn viccy flats into offices.

When you look up and think its just one big council block. Something you'd usually find further out the city. Having that right in the city centre gives it a bad impression...

However... if it was a office tower block ? It would give a much bigger impression.

Apparently Boots have a few offices in Viccy Flats on the lower floors just above the store.

Hello Nottingham, Like the quality of your skyline photos. Have you got any with the windmill in ?

Windmills are usually associated with rural areas so a windmill in the city is very unusual and unique.

Anyone know the history of the windmill ? Does it serve any purpose today ?
