I remain hopeful. Like what Bayani Fernando said, fix the environment first and people's attitudes change as well.

How are you so sure that there will be no change? Or that change will not come? We should be proud of what we have, and even more proud that we know things can change for the better, if only we give a shot.

It's actually the fourth trial run. And it was successful!

Anyway, long-distance service will resume on June 12, 2011. Now let's hope for the best: I can now go to my home province by train!

Welcome to the international forums. As always, please be reminded to speak in English. This is not the Philippine forums.

Nine hours is good, yes, but I'd like to see it go faster. But restoration of passenger service isn't enough: cargo services have to be restored as well. And if the PNR network can be slowly rebuilt despite land losses due to the encroachment of illegal settlers, then better.

Let's give PNR its chance to be better. Yes, cargo services are being reflected upon. It's not just once that the GM had spoken to the business sectors in Manila and Bicol re. freight services. The thing is there is more serious desire now to revive it. Nine hours is good, but yes, I agree with you that a faster one is better. It will be, I hope.

BTW, thanks for informing me that this is an English-language thread.

There's a separate thread for the LRT/MRT in the Subways and Urban Transport forum, but it doesn't get a lot of traffic, and is buried deep in the directory. If you find it, make it active again!
