Nice updates karthy..

The One behind that Blue structure will be the Hospital campus and I guess the construction in deep of the campus will be for Medical College..Good Progress..I guess they will start students admissions by next year..

I am eagerly waiting for more Private medical colleges in Madurai so that I can settle in our Madurai itself peacefully as I am looking to step into the teaching side too..

Very nice to see another Medical College coming up at last. After so many reports about Apollo, CSI, Kamaraj etc., finally Velammal is the only one that turned out to be true. This is a good news.

Thanks Karthy & Vijay Mdu for the photos.

This building is located opposite to the court(behind metropole). A worker told me that it is a 10 floor building. But it looked like a G+9 building. It is a 3 star hotel.

Multilevel car parking in madurai from Rajmahal

Rajmahal showroom has opened a multi level car parking first time in south TN for the benefit of their customers. 42 cars can be parked in this facility in 5 levels. One bombay base company has designed and implemented the same.

Madurai corporation should take action to build such parking facilities inside the city. So that all the narrow roads can be declared no parking areas and can be fully used for vehicles movement. This will reduce traffic within the city to some extent.

Corporation hardly owns any land within the city limit. Whatever they own are small play areas, small small gardens like Jhansi Rani Garden, Rajaji Garden etc., We cant destroy the garden or play area for car parking.

What corporation can do is, expedite the old central market car parking plan, Construct a huge underground car parking area in Perumal Tank which is located in town hall road and so on. This will help the tourists and local people who own two and four wheelers to a large extend

If corporation doesn't have any space inside the city they can allow private players for building Multilevel car parking. But corporation should support them by declaring the particular roads into no parking ones.

I think corporation will allow anybody to build multi level parking as long as they dont violate the building permit norm etc., How they allowed rajmahal eventhough it is a steel structure and not concrete, in the same way they will allow anybody. I think it shouldnt be an issue. Issue here is whether anybody who has a land in the city limit (which is a hot property) will construct car parking and earn a small parking fee or will construct a shopping mall (even if it is a simple row of shops) and earn much better?

Hi Ananth,
You are right. However, this rule should be there in the immediate vicinity of the temple. They should have relaxed it for any area that is 2+ Kms away from the temple.

Yes fully agreed. The rule should be in place even now within and upto the 4 Veli streets only and not beyond.
