It is good that Madurai atleast gets flights on the domestic side. However, all flights are only to Chennai. Sadly the Mumbai-Bangalore-Madurai A320 from Air Deccan hasn't taken off yet.

MADURAI Information technology parks !!

ELCOT asked the govt., to connect the IT Parks of MADURAI with the 4-Lane roads & also it's asking the govt that the connecting road should also be 4-laned. The HAPPY news is the ELCOT's proposal was accepted by the government.

TN Govt., promised ELCOT to connect :

217 acres of VADAPALANJI IT SEZ with Kanyakumari NH by laying a new 4-lane road from By-pass(opp., to Aparna towers) to Nagamalai pudukottai-17 kilometers. It had also planned to build a FANTASTIC , MARVELLOUS , HUGE & BEAUTIFUL Entry ARCH to the VADAPALANJI IT SEZ.

Approximately 30 acres of ILANDAIKULAM Tidel park with the upcoming SAMAYANALLUR - UTHANGUDI 4-lane Ring road-II.600 metres distance from the road to the tidel park will be connected by a new 4-lane connecting road.

38.17 acres of land of KINNIMANGALAM IT Park with the new 4-lane road , coming from Aparna towers - Nagamalai pudukottai .

The above 3-parks were already approved by both the cent., & state govts.,

29 acres of land alloted by Madurai corporation in kochadai for a TIDEL PARK IN THE CITY is under consideration and very soon it'll also get its approval & take its shape.

Good to know that ELCOT's proposal for 4 laned access roads from IT park and TIDEL park to nearest 4 lane NH has been accepted by the government.

AFAIK ELCOT is developing only two IT parks, one opposite MKU and another at Ilandhaikulam. Haven't heard anything about the other 2 IT parks you have mentioned namely at Kochadai and Kinnimangalam.

RR Industries has started Rudradev Aviation in Chennai and AFAIK has no plans for one at Madurai. Only Paramount has such plans for Madurai.

The kinnimangalam land is adjacent to existing IT Sez in vadapalanji.. the madurai corporation proposed the kochadai land for IT park during the early stages.. ELCOT chose the ilandhaikulam land..

The rudradev aviation is in the verge of getting the permission for Aviation academy in Madurai...according to Mr.Praful patel.. few days back..

CHENNAI: Two leading industrial firms will soon set up units at the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu complex in Nilakottai in Dindigul.

Together, they will invest Rs. 75 crore in the industrially backward area.

Fenner India, a market leader in the production of industrial and automotive V-belts, and Caparo Engineering India, a part of the UK-based Caparo group, both signed Memorandums of Understanding with SIPCOT in the presence of Rural Development and Local Administration Minister M.K. Both Fenner and Caparo Engineering will be setting up their units at Nilakottai SIPCOT which is on the Madurai-Kodai road stretch of NH 7, 5 kms before Kodai road. These projects are being developed very much based on Madurai as its the closest big city and Fenner already has presence in Madurai. Once the four laning work gets completed its should just be a matter of minutes before you can reach the SIPCOT estate from the outskirts of Madurai.

This would actually be good for the city as we could see expansion of the city on that stretch also.

As pointed out by some ppl in the meeting, the expansion should also include othakadai and beyond.. The melur road is burgeoning with activity as mattuthavani busstand, high court bench, proposed IT park are in close proximity to this road...
