And other nationalities need it? If they want to built supertalls, it's their money, i don't see any problem anywhere.

Actually - Daejeon is an emerging high tech city and property prices have been escalating there recently. There has also been some talk about relocating segments of govt. there also away from Seoul.

A landmark building such as this is probably needed for no other reason than to make a statement. The city size has the capacity. South Korea is one of the most densely populated medium sized countries I have been to, in terms of cities being compact to allow farmland to be free. It's damn good thinking IMO.

However - without any new news on this project ... who knows.

SK is starting to get a reputation on this forum for 'vision projects' that don't go anywhere, as far as very tall building go. I don't know if it is the number of potential projects or the number of threads that get opened.
