Sounder Commuter Rail only runs during peak hours, just to shuffle people to and from work. I don't entirely consider the BNSF a major hindrance. The freight that comes in through the Port of Seattle is vital to keeping trade open with Eastern Asia. As long as Sounder operates on peak hours alone, there everything should function accordingly.

nice job with the map. I hope they consider that tracks from Renton to bellevue/kirkland will be converted to commuter rail line.

Looks kind of barren where that stop is located...there's nothing around there but the highway...

Thats the highway leading to the airport. Its the only stop on the central link at a Park N Ride. It looks barren because on one side is the freeway, the other is the parking lot.

^Sweet! There was a ceremony today (till 1:30) at Westlake station where you can take tours and go inside a light rail car. I hope someone here went and took pictures to share since I couldn't go.

-Post them on a free picture site like flickr (be sure to set them to public viewing).

-go to the regular size view of the image you want to post

-right click on it and select "view image"

-it should bring up the image completely by itself. Copy the URL of that page into the text you want to post on the forum with "" at the end

so if the URL of the picture I want to post is "http://aycu13.webshots.com/image/27372/2003159730294770039_rs.jpg" like the picture above, then to show the image I would type to get:

Okay, talk about resurrecting a thread. I though it'd be better to post here instead of starting a new one.

There is a development board for the construction and staging of the Capitol Hill Light Rail station. This is the entire block between E. John St. and Denny, Broadway and 10th. The block directly across the Street from Dick's. This does mean the destruction of Jack in the Box (YAY). Also included are the two buildings just south of Denny, that house Vivace coffee/Revolution Books, an apartment building south of that, and the brick building at the SE corner of Broadway and Denny, that housed USBank while their new building was built. Across the street, the old Chang's and the parking lot are also going to be demolished.

I know somebody who lives in the apartment building that is going to be demolished, and they said that everybody has to be out by April. The proprietors of the Crypt adult store said that they were going to be given their 90 eviction notice in January, so they've found a new location. Hour Eyes optical and Vivace will be moving in to the Brix up the street when it opens.

So for some time, there will be a gaping hole on Broadway. I hope that if they demolish/evict the tenants of the buildings, that they'll start construction soon. I don't like the block where the old QFC was that has stood vacant for so many years.

Funny. I noticed the old (or temporary) US Bank site. Corner location and a great spot for a Starbucks. Right across the street is a new Peets Coffee House. How dare they invade Starbucks territory!! Gutsy.

I forgot about the Light Rail Station and didn't know that it would cross Denny.

Do they still have the walk-thru McDonalds on Broadway?
