Mr D invades Travemunde

Travemunde is a cozy beach-resort town located where the Trave river meets the Baltic Sea in northern Germany.. it's apparently also a favorite among old people - a shame really

A nice thing about it is the scraper - not exactly a looker - but it have a desent height and a nice location..

Ahh, nice pictures of Travemünde. I have been there a couple of times to relax at the beach. And dont worry, there are lots of young people as well during weekends. Many people from nearby Hamburg drive there to enjoy the beaches in the summer.

Nice place. Its official a neighborhood of Lübeck, isn`t it ? This beaches are super crowded in the summer , with even Italians and Spains making holiday there. What about "Timmendorfer
-Strand " I often confused it with Travemünde , is it right there?

Those building front facades with the stepped roof line... I think of that as being a Dutch architectural feature... does anyone know if it began in the Netherlands?

You mean the Crow-stepped gables?

Thanks for the link! Also says it is typical of Netherlands and Belgium. I had always associated it with the Netherlands, so was curious as to where the origin was... I guess they don't really know. You even see it over here in North America once in a while.
