I was in Lübeck in July, it really is a fantastic little down. Certainly worth a visit if you are in Hamburg or Copenhagen; and if you take the train from Denmark you get to make the border crossing on the ferry. Great pictures here Mr. Denmark, my hotel is pictured in quite a few of these shots

^ Did u spent your night at the RadissonSAS? If so, please describe it a lil bit (what u like and what not that much about it). I'm planning for a weekend to go to Lübeck and would be intrested in to know which Hotel would fit therefor Cordial thanks in advance.

It's around 160 km from the German/Danish border

That's incorrect. Lübeck is around 100km (direct line) away from Rodbyhavn (danish side) and around 135km (direct line) away from the border on the Jütland peninsula. The 160km is surely the road distance to Padborg (bordertown to Germany).

Is the post-war architecture noticeable? Some parts certainly still look good. I remember somebody saying that he prefered Lübeck over Gdansk which I thought was quite surprising considering the fantastic job the Poles did of rebuilding that city.
