burj khalifa started in 2004 or 2005, and was only finished in 2010. all the way in between if something over 510m would have been finished it would have been the tallest building

Hi all.

Hi Killer.
The Bk is inaugurated but not completed yet.

Hi Pat.
Great stuff.
Plans and drawings are always good to help determine and understand what is going on as construction progresses.

Ray.

Who can tell us more about the above. It seems quite important as it has been posted on gaoloumi.com

Ray.

Well it is completed by standards of 99% people here I believe. Otherwise it wouldn't have the status completed on CTBUH, emporis, wikipedia, skyscraperpage and even here on skyscrapercity the thread title clearly says COM. Even Imre claims its completed. If we want to compare buildings with each other we have to have equal standards for all of them. And the truth is that if we'd like to wait for opening of all bars and renting/fitting out all space in every building we would have to extend construction period of all buildings twice or even triple of the actual construction time. And the fact that there is no clients interested in renting this office space (so it won't be fitted out), or that one club is still not open doesn't mean that generally burj is not completed.

Seriously if they won't rent that office space in say 10 years you will still claim "The Building" is not completed yet?

Really no offense intended, just felt like it has to be said.

cheers

So if I understand well it's quite good news for PingAn as it's China Construction bureau #1 who won the bid for the construction. China construction bureau has a lot of branches such as #2...#13 etc...
Being #1 should put a big priority on the project.
But I'm not sure.

Wow, such a big core. Of course having said that, the immense size of the tower makes the floor space look small. But in terms of construction, the core does take up a lot of space. This competes with Kinkey in SZ and Shanghai tower in SH in terms of core size. Is there a place where they compare the height and floor space of towers? Would be interesting to see which towers actually stand out as being 'useful'.

Probably depends where your observation point in Hong Kong will be. It's not such a small place.

Tai Mo Shan is 957 m high.

The whole central Shenzhen, not just towers, should be plainly visible from the summit and northern slopes of Tai Mo Shan.

Any pictures from there?

not really.
In fact,China Construction bureau #1 Group Corporation Limited is not strong as China Construction bureau #3 Group Corporation Limited, but not that bad either. So some others hope China Construction bureau #3 Group Corporation Limited would be the finnal bidder which means Ping'an IFC will be built faster.
anyway, all the ping'an IFC fans dont need to warry about that.Let's give some power and confidence to the China Construction bureau #1 Group Corporation Limited coz it really get enough Strength.
