What is the purpose of these scaffold like structures on top of the rebar?
AT least they give a good indication how incredibly thick this floor will be.

i think he meant the smaller scaffoldings all over the place not the one with the cylinders on them .

looks to be some monumental work being done down there I hope they'll get the pour before the first snow

Probably early to mid December. The lower layer of rebar was completed in about 2 weeks. Now they're placing the supports that will carry the upper layer (the scafholding). Another thing is that above the foundation piles they are placing steal elements that will hold the supports for the reinforcement columns in the core. The already placed one, see the last close-up picture in Scion's post. On a few other piles they only placed the steel elements so far. I think it will take another week or so to install the remaining supports and then about 2 to 3 weeks to build the remaining of the upper layer of rebar. Hope this answered your question a bit

Shenzhen is below the tropic of Cancer. It may have snow flakes once in a life time or so.

Ha ha ... there's no snow in Shenzhen . It's in the south of China , right beside Hong Kong .

what are they doing to the other hole is it a part of the tower too? i thought it was just to get trucks and other stuff down the other hole
