120 million population for the pearl delta area?! it is even larger than the number of the whole Cantonese living area(including Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao)

The thread about Goldin Finance 117 jokes that appeared in Ping An Finance Center can not get out of the ground as all the scaffolding standing in Tianjin.

Well, if nothing else, this is the first time we get to see an impressionist picture at the bottom of a foundation pit.

No, I'm pretty sure this is only supposed to have to core cranes.

If you are comparing this to the Shanghai Tower, this building is a lot smaller and wouldn't need the extra two cranes...

A lot smaller? I would say they are quite equal in size of the footprint. And it still may get more cranes in the future. Shanghai tower on the begging of the construction also have just two cranes, and only later when core started to rise they added two additional.

i think ping-an is a lot slimmer, looking at the diagrams at SSP it is visible that not only the top is slimmer because of the spire, but also the whole body of the building isn't as wide as Shanghai Tower

Not really. The thing that makes st slightly wider is it's double cladding. When you remove the exterior cladding both towers looks pretty much equal. Plus, the st has round footprint while pingan is square. That means there will be at least the same amount of construction materials to be lifted for each floor at ping'an construction or maybe even more.

IMO
