people these days only use RPPP, APPP is not an accurate measure of wealth, it ignores too many factors and assumes we live in a world with no market friction, and that people's preferences and lifestyles are exactly the same, which is definitely not.

The cities might merge, but the skylines not. Is a mountain between them.

16 km might not be so much for the next 15-30 years.

Imagine the Emporis score (considering that in 15 years they finally colect all data from Shenzhen. )

The center-to-center distance is 29km but along the coast avoiding the mountains there is an almost continuous strip of built-up land already, at some places very narrow, at other places including complete (new) towns.

chance? I believe they will build it for sure

Ping An workers have been cramming themselves working in an old suburban building for years, after all Ping An has turned into the second largest insurance corp in China, it's time for them to move into a better place

I wonder how many large Chinese companies will build supertall headquarters within the next decades.

in fact most well-known state-owned companies have got their nice places already, like BoC, China National Petroleum, ICBC etc. However, some are still not satisfied and still want to have a nicer one like CCTV...
but there are still many Private enterprises like Pingan, they are evolving quickly, and surly there will be a supertall race in the next decade among those large cities
