It says they are waiting for maybe a height increase from the government. Relax this project will start soon.

Don't think they'll increase the height just a few meters. Guess it will be near 700m or even more.

I'm a college student, i mostly go on SSC during study breaks and afterwards forget everything that has not a double integral and a sum infront of it xD. But thanks for reminding me, hope to get an official confirmation that they indeep increase the height and i will not forget it that easily

if they increase it, i hope they also increase the floor count and not just strech the spire a little bit more

Guys, they are not increasing the height, 660 meters is final.

The construction company, China Construction 1st Corp, is having difficulty hiring experienced project managers/engineers for a project of this scale and magnitude, so the progress is delayed.

That explains a lot. Good to hear they are not going to extend the spire. It wouldn't look right indeed.
