I too thought the steel plates will enclose the rebars, but instead they are just sandwiched between two rolls of rebars. Strange.

Hi all.

I too noticed this. I guess they will begin erecting forms after the steel is in place.

Hi ZZ.

I agree, level by level but I think the steel will stick up above the pour to allow them to make the steel to steel connection before forming for the next level. The floor of the basement level above the raft can be seen in the steel about a meter down from the top, at the same level the I-beams are placed in the openings.

The few plans we have seen seem to show 5 basement levels with B4 and B5 approx. half the height of B1, B2, and B3. This steel seems to show different. Unlike the ST, the concrete rings around the hole are at the heights of the lower levels in the podium area. (In the ST the rings were not at the level heights and were actually blasted as the podium was top downed after the lower levels of the main structure were complete structurally)
So either :
1- the lower levels for the main structure don't correspond with the levels in the podium (I have no plans that actually show the podium lower levels)
or ...
2 - The plans have changed to only 4 lower levels for both the podium and main structure.

A question, how do they make the colour of the finished structure metallic gold. What material do they use to clad it and achieve this effect?

Glad to see the core is beginning to rise now

But do someone know what's actually up with the smaller tower (307m)?
It has been mentioned so rarely. What is going on on the another site?
Anybody an idea?

it's a semi twin tower, the other building is part of the project, has a similar style and is even connected to the main tower. however has a different height.

hmm, but I wouldn't call it twins though If they are not twins then I would say they are separate buildings. Well even wtc twins had names (wtc1 & wtc2) so I think it deserves it's own thread, but we have to know how it will be called and if it's still planned after all.
